On 10 October 2019, Siemens AG and the HSD Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology organised their 10th celebration for graduates from the bachelor's programme Electrical Engineering (Dual System) with excellent results. Siemens and HSD had developed the concept for the study programme together to help generate new electrical engineers for North Rhine-Westphalia. The programme was first launched in the winter semester 2007/2008. Within only four years of education, the students achieve the internationally recognised academic degree of Bachelor of Engineering, a qualification from the chamber of industry and commerce in Düsseldorf and a vocational qualification as electronics technician for automation technology.
‘In my opinion, the combination of vocational training and academic studies is particularly beneficial and reflects our self-concept as a university of applied sciences,’ commented Prof. Dr. Edeltraud Vomberg, president of HSD, on the commitment of the graduates during the celebration.
Siemens also values the cooperation, which Holger Bentler, head of Siemens Professional Education West, emphasised repeatedly in his speech. He congratulated the graduates on their achievements and encouraged them to stay open for new developments – and to keep developing themselves professionally as well as personally.
